Contestant Agreement

Thank you for joining the Built for Battle League ("we," "our," or "us") as a contestant. By signing this agreement, you acknowledge your commitment to upholding the league’s standards, rules, and values. This Contestant Agreement outlines your rights and responsibilities as a participant.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Age:

    • Contestants must be at least 18 years old to participate. Minors may participate with written consent from a parent or legal guardian and adherence to additional safety requirements.

  2. Health Certification:

    • Contestants certify that they are in good physical health and free from conditions that may impair their ability to safely participate.

  3. Code of Conduct Agreement:

    • Contestants must adhere to the Code of Conduct outlined in this agreement and all league rules.

 

Rules and Safety Compliance

  1. Rules of Engagement:

    • Contestants must adhere to the Rules and Regulations provided by Built for Battle League. Non-compliance may result in disqualification or penalties.

  2. Safety Standards:

    • All armor, weapons, and equipment must meet league safety standards and pass inspection prior to use.

    • Contestants agree to participate in any required safety briefings or rehearsals.

  3. Prohibited Actions:

    • Intentional unsafe behavior, unsanctioned moves, or failure to follow safety protocols is grounds for immediate disqualification.

 

Intellectual Property and Media Releases

  1. Performance Content:

    • Built for Battle League retains the right to record, photograph, and distribute media of all performances.

    • Contestants grant Built for Battle League a royalty-free, worldwide license to use their likeness, name, and performance footage for promotional and operational purposes.

  2. Custom Designs:

    • Contestants retain ownership of any custom designs, armor, or props they create but grant Built for Battle League permission to feature these designs in event-related media and promotions.

  3. Use of AI-Generated Images:

    • Built for Battle League may use AI-generated images as temporary concept art on our website and social media platforms. These images are intended to provide visual representations that explain the concepts and themes of the league until authentic media (e.g., photos or videos of real events and participants) can replace them.

    • AI-generated images do not depict actual participants, events, or designs unless explicitly stated. Any resemblance to real individuals or properties is purely coincidental.

    • This temporary use of AI-generated content aligns with Built for Battle League’s mission to communicate its vision effectively and will transition to real content as it becomes available.

 

Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver

  1. Acknowledgment of Risks:

    • Contestants acknowledge the inherent risks of staged combat and agree to participate voluntarily.

  2. Release of Liability:

    • Contestants release Built for Battle League, its affiliates, staff, and venue partners from any liability for injuries, damages, or losses incurred during participation.

  3. Insurance:

    • Contestants are encouraged to obtain personal insurance coverage for additional protection.

 

Code of Conduct

  1. Sportsmanship:

    • Contestants must display professionalism, respect, and courtesy toward fellow participants, officials, and audience members.

  2. Respect for Officials:

    • All rulings by league officials are final. Disputes must be raised respectfully and through proper channels.

  3. Representation of the League:

    • Contestants are ambassadors of the league and must not engage in behavior that could damage its reputation.

 

Disqualification and Penalties

  1. Grounds for Disqualification:

    • Violations of league rules, unsafe behavior, or unsportsmanlike conduct.

  2. Penalties:

    • May include point deductions, round forfeiture, or bans from future events.

 

Event Cancellations and Changes

  1. Force Majeure:

    • Built for Battle League is not responsible for cancellations or changes due to circumstances beyond its control.

  2. Refund Policy:

    • Refunds for canceled events will be handled per the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
